I'm not like other dogs. I'm a dog with a Blog...that's very special my mum says. she's called Debz. Debz Hobbs-Wyatt which is a really long name for me to remember. I think I just want to be Rosie, or maybe Rosie Hobbs. Debz is something called a writer. That means she sits at a table a lot and taps.

So my new mum Debz says she grew up with a gold and white cocker spaniel called Poppy (which is a flower- what's one of them?) and always said that when she worked from home she would have a cocker spaniel of her own. So that's where I come in, right... I suppose... I am a cocker spaniel then... and I come with all these bits of papers. That makes me very special... as I said, I'm not like other dogs, I'm a Dog with a Blog. A Cocker Spaniel with a Blog.
Now the thing about my new mum is she loves cats. Cats are WEIRD , bigger than me and they stare a lot and won't play but I'm gonna change all that. The cats that are part of our family are called Cagney and Lacey... Cags n Lace for short. How weird are those for names. Maybe if I had been a boy she would have called me Starsky or Columbo or Kojak.
I'm glad I'm a girl and that she didn't call me after a TV show. Rosie- that's me, also like the flower. Well that's what Debz says. What's a flower again?
Debz says Cagney and Lacey were 6 years old last week and guess what they got for their birthday... ME!!! But I don't think they like me... not yet anyway. But they will. Everyone likes me! How can anyone not like me? Eh? Eh? Eh? Give us a kiss...
Debz told me she knew me before I was even a twinkle! Thing is I don't remember ever being a twinkle. Was I a twinkle? What's a twinkle? Anyway she said she always wanted me and she even dreamed about me a couple of years ago. So here I am.
Debz says she found me in Knutsford which is a place with a funny name- she found me when she spoke to Kath and Lorraine (the ones that own my real Mum, Ellie. My other mums. You see I have a lot of mums.) Kath and Lorraine are what you call 'breeders'. I have no idea what that means. Breeding? Maybe it's got something to do with food. Like the word 'eating'? Everything has something to do eating. Give us a biscuit...
I met Debz when I was 4 weeks old. She was sat on the floor and scrambled into her lap and when she lifted me chewed on a silver heart thing she wears around her neck. After I met her they started to call me Rosie. Did I tell you it means flower. Flower? What's one of them again? She even called me Flower earlier. She calls melots of things like Poppet, and Cup Cake and Little Devil- oh and last night she called me Dozy Rosie... that's when I kicked over the water and walked wet feet all over the room. Love it... give us a cuddle...
So yesterday Debz and her friend Nicola (who smells of another dog) came and got me and I had to leave my other mummies, now I'm stuck with this weird one with loads of hair (good to chew) and we live in a place with a dead funny name. I mean really funny this one.
I came here in a car in a plastic crate, on a pink blanket with the toy Kath and Lorraine gave me. I slept most of the way.
I was a big day for me. I have all these toys to play with and a soft squidegy bed that I plonk in when I need to sleep. And there's a cage with toys in and I like to sleep in there too. I slept in there last night, all on my own but I slept and never made a sound from 11 last night until Debz woke me up at 7.45 this morning.
She says I am a really good girl... but don't you believe it... little does she know!
And the biggest secret about me... I am a Dog with Blog... and I am going to tell you all about my adventures...
Hiya Rosie,
ReplyDeleteMy you are clever with words for one so young. So, you are well suited to your new mum. Would you like to study at my university? English and Creative Writing. You'd do very well and you can do it distance learning if you like.
I expect I'll meet you one day - I'm a friend of your new mum's and I visit her sometimes. Or perhaps she'll bring you to see me and then you'll meet Magic. She's another CAT but she thinks she's a dog. She's got loads of friends that are dogs.
I'm sure you'll settle down into your new home soon and have lots of fun with Debz and Cagney and Lacey.
Be good! Say hello to your mum for me.
Hi Rosie,
ReplyDeleteYou are one of the most adorable creatures I have ever seen, but I expect you know that already. You certainly seem to know lots of things - apart from what flowers are. They are normally, but not always, fragrant colourful things which sprout from from the ground or in pots.
I hope you continue to settle in well and try not to kick the water over again. It may be cute the first time but after a while it will tend to get on your mum's nerves.
Looking forward to hearing all your adventures.
Mandy
Hi Rosie
ReplyDeleteNice to be able to see life from your perspective. I know your Mum wants to be(?) a writer so maybe you can give her a few tips!!!
